House of Ireland Dues: Please be sure to pay your annual dues by the March meeting. Dues are $5.00 for an individual or $8.00 for a family. IRELAND- St Patrick’s Day!! , A Celebration – The David Munnelly Band! Friday, March 7th, 2008 – 8:00 pm. California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Tickets $30. For more information call the Ticket office at (800 988-4253), or contact Kerry Records at Annual Celtic Mass followed by Saint Patrick’s Dinner Dance - Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church celebrates St. Patrick patron Saint of Ireland. Annual Celtic Mass is celebrated at 6 pm Friday, March 14th, 2008. Location – Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church, 3131 Governor Drive, San Diego, CA 92122. Tickets for the Dinner Dance (in Parish Hall at 7pm) are $30 and up. For Reservations and more Information contact: John Walsh (858 453-9555).   St. Patrick’s Day Parade: This year’s St. Patrick’s Day falls on Saturday, March 15. The House of Ireland will be participating, so plan to march with us if you’re able. We will also be having a booth in the vendor area, and are planning to serve tea and scones. Helpful hands and smiling faces will again be needed. House of Ireland Lawn Program: Our Lawn Program will be Sunday, March 16th from 11 am to 4 pm. Peeling begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. As usual, we will need plenty of baked goods and lots of helping hands. If you wish to participate in the the stage program at 2:00 pm, contact Richard Slowey at 619.647.9531. We would love to have a wide variety of adult and youth dancers as well as singers, story-tellers, actors – you name it. Please let us know if you would like to take part!

Irish language

There will be a new series of Beginning Irish Language Classes starting on September 9th
Beginning classes Fridays, 7 – 9 p.m.,
Intermediate classes Thursdays, 7 – 9 p.m.

Irish History

Irish History - Class usually meets the first Monday of each month from 7 – 9 p.m. at the cottage. For information contact Pat Flannery . The topic for March 3rd will be “St. Patrick: Who was he really?””, to be presented by Pat Flannery.

Music

Learn Irish music. The beginner class is held at the cottage every Sunday morning from 11:00 to 12:00, with a very slow-paced introductory session from 10:30 to 11:00. Musicians interested in learning session tunes by ear are welcome to come to the cottage

Anyone knowing of someone who would appreciate a cheery note from their friends at the HOI can contact Mary Lynch to arrange a card to be sent
